Chapter 43. Failed Attempt at Seduction
Even though he had no interest in Venice, Brendon had to admit that her beauty made all the men they passed look at him with envy.
They arrived at a store in the mall where he was used to buying his everyday clothes, and he asked Venice to try on some dresses. He sat in an armchair and watched as she walked past him, sipping a cognac served by a discreet waiter. But it wasn't her he saw. He could see Samira in each of those dazzling dresses, and when she appeared in a long silver one with green stone details, he knew that the dress had been tailor-made for Samira. It would highlight her eyes, which were like jewels.
Brendon was pleased and asked the young sales clerk to wrap the silver dress in gift wrap. And with Venice still with him, even after he had dismissed her, he went to the jewelry store and examined the emeralds. He wanted earrings and a necklace to match the dress.
