"I'm something much more interesting and intelligent than a psychic, Artemisia. I can smell pregnant women." Venice said with an unconcerned countenance.
"For your sake, Venice, I hope you're right."
Venice stared at her for a moment as if she didn't recognize her;
"Is it just me or do you not want me to leave?"
"I... I have nothing against you. And you won my sympathy when you didn't complain about the tasks I set you. You even cleaned the bathroom..."
"Weren't those the boss's orders?" Venice asked, remembering that she had seen Artemisia talking on the phone, minutes before she told her to go and wash the toilet. "I saw you talking to him on the phone!"
Artemisia felt her face heat up.
"I... I lied. I wasn't talking to anyone."
Venice burst out laughing, surprising Artemisia, who had expected an indignant reaction.
