Chapter 141. Between Mother and Son

Giovanna entered the restaurant and immediately noticed the bright, golden eyes of all the waiters. The man who had invited her was sitting at the only occupied table. She wasn't surprised. He was probably a supernatural creature and that place must have been his property. She made her way over to him, who stood up politely when she arrived and only sat down again when she was already comfortable in his leather upholstered armchair.

"You look beautiful, Giovanna."

She took a quick look at the electronic menu and ordered a beer, before turning to the man.

"It's been many years since anyone called me by that name. I'm guessing you don't know, so please call me Simara."

"You don't have to hide behind a false name here, Giovanna. In this environment you are free to be who you truly are."
