Chapter 47
Smith arrived in Salem by afternoon. The trip from the airport was quickly arranged, and within the hour, both men had taken a tour guide to see the grounds. Only, she was not a tour guide but a really petite woman who spoke too loudly for her size and had a voice like an old radio meant to entertain a really large crowd. She was chirpy, eager to explain just about anything, and most importantly, Smith knew she was crooked. And that was exactly what Smith looked out for in everybody he intended to get on the team.
He’d learned early enough that good people did the worst things, sometimes when they had an intense urge to do right and correct their ‘evil’ actions, or maybe because they were not so experienced at being bad that they always ended up doing the exact opposite of what was required of them in a critical scenario.
