Chapter 6
The soft music playing in the club was too quiet for Smith’s liking; it made him sleepy, and he didn’t want to be sleepy. He wanted to have a good night dancing, drinking, and maybe take a nice blunt lady home. Beside him was Teddy, not saying “no” to a bottle of beer, his third bottle that night, actually.
Smith wasn’t big on beers, but he had two bottles himself and was considering a third after all. All he had to do was take a taxi home; he wouldn’t be stupid enough to drive himself. He knew the risks involved in drunk driving and didn’t want to joke with his life like that.
They had to report to the office later. Chief Martin had told them that the girl they had been looking for was not missing at all but rather out having the time of her life, leaving with some boy and going to a really expensive pool party.
