Chloe’s eyes had reddened, and tears were endlessly streaming down her cheeks, no matter how often she wiped her face with the soft cotton handkerchief in her hands. She felt her heart was being crushed. She did not wish for anything like any of these to happen. Not with Desmund and Denisse, and most especially not with Denny.
