With a look of death on my face, I slowly turned to face Chris. Chris took a big drink of water before going on. “Why don’t we make a dare? You’ve killed enough of your men; at this rate, only two brothers will be left in your pack.”

Kalix put himself between me and Chris to protect him. He knew I was crazy right then, and he didn’t want me to take my anger out on the stupid wolf who was making fun of my control over my pack.

“Lucian, let Chris talk for a minute.” My brother’s voice didn’t show how angry he was that his men didn’t listen to him. I could tell he was afraid I’d kill everyone who got in my way.

I didn’t even look at Kalix as he spoke, which made him feel scared. He knew he had to tell me something before it was too late.
