Chapter 84. Healing

Elise’s POV

I ran through Owen’s bedroom door with a bag on my shoulder and fear in my veins. I didn’t know who got hurt, but I knew it was someone close to Owen.

Owen jumped out of bed and growled at the intruder, but when he saw it was just me, he quickly pulled his teeth back. Something was bothering him. “Thank the gods you’re here. Please help. I need her. Please.”

Owen wrapped his arms around me tight, and tears poured out of his eyes. He held back for a long time, but when he saw me standing there with supplies and worry in my eyes, he just opened the gates.

As he lost control, I rubbed his back and told him to be quiet. I never took my eyes off the woman sleeping so still in his bed. I remembered his text: “Owen, it’s okay. Whatever it is, we’ll fix it. Okay! Just tell me what you need, and I won’t ask any questions.”
