Serene’s POV

“Good morning, Ma’am Serene. It’s good to have you visit.” The guard, George, smiled at me as he opened the door for me.

I just smiled at it. “Where’s Theo, Mr. George?”

“He’s in the office; he almost goes home here because he lives almost here.”

I was sad to think that he was soaking up the work. Doesn’t he take care of himself? I know nothing to expect from Jeannette; she never does the things I did before to Theo.

“Be careful, mam”. He said it with a smile. I just nodded in return.

The employees I meet greet me, which I just return with a smile. I feel the stares and whispers of the employees, but I don’t pay attention to them.
