Chapter 153. The Showcase

The stage was brightly lit and Carlos squinted against the glare but recovered quickly enough. He had a flash of memory that snuck up on him from a stack he had buried deep down. Bright light coming on above him unexpectedly over and over again, so many times that each time it feels as though the light was coming on inside his head.

“It’s starting,” the woman whispered and thankfully got up from the chair. She bent over to whisper, “Keep your eyes out for Winter Angel. Most people love her.” She winked at him then turned and walked away.

Carlos turned towards the stage as a thought came to him. He had been thinking about it for a while actually, the whole point of this showcase. The secrecy and exclusivity around it had to amount for something. Asmodeus used this ‘showcase’ to boost his sales and keep his biggest patrons sweet. Carlos had been almost dreading the big reveal of what this show was going to be.
