Chapter 24

As the sun bathed the girls lounging by the pool, Jo concluded his meetings. Dismissing his men, he descended to where the girls rested; he and Min were having a casual conversation when they got to where the girls were settling down there.

Jo’s gaze was on Chloe. He watched as Kai and Min went indoors to grab more drinks. Then, he stood from his chair and towered over Chloe.

“How is the sun?”

“Jo, you startled me! I was dozing off here!" She gave him a small smack on the chest. He leaned in and took her hand, rubbing his thumb over the ring she had on.

“I like to see this on your hand; it makes me feel secure that you are mine. Next week, we will have our wedding,” he said, lifting her hand to kiss it.

“I know…” she sighed. Part of her wants to, and the other part refuses. She feels that she will be stuck and imprisoned in a world she hates and a man she is trying to accept.

“Princess, are you ready to rule the dark world with me?” His gaze was n
