Chapter 123. Ava Gets Weird

Ava's breathing became heavier. If she hadn't received the call, her heart would have soared. But now, she hated the attention. She wanted to hate him as much as she could.

"Anyway, I'm going to office. Do your job well. See you later."

Ava nodded slightly. Only after Jeremy left did she look up. Staring at his back, tears came to her eyes.

"Oh my God, what should I do?"

Biting her lip, Ava closed her eyes to hold back the pain. Then, instead of going to the kitchen, she went into her room. There, she curled up and cried again.

Ava didn't know how long she had been hiding. She didn't dare look at the clock. She felt like she wanted to disappear from the world, to escape from the tough choices she didn't want to make.

Unfortunately, when she started to feel better, someone knocked on the door. Ava had to wipe her face and check.

"Mrs. Melanie?"
