Chapter 14
Silver sat down in the cell playing with the stones around her, the empty tray of food beside her. Her stomach grumbled in protest, and she rubbed gently on it. She was hungry, and she scowled at the unfamiliar pangs in her stomach. The food was barely enough to whet her appetite, and she was meant to survive on that. She wondered if he had ordered her food portion to be reduced as part of her punishment and shook her head at the kind of jerk that he was.
She was a princess, and he dared to treat her as a mere prisoner. She wished she could find a way to write a letter to Vincent and tell him of the recent development lest he thought she had the prince at the tip of her finger.
She heard footsteps, and she clammed up, scared he had decided to kill her. She closed her eyes and pretended to be weak and sleeping.
“My princess,” Mary cried as she got to the cell, hanging on to the gate at the entrance.
