“Time to go again.” Silver grinned at Mary as soon as they were done with breakfast and the maid had come to clear the plate away.

Mary shuddered and shook her head, remembering the menacing look on the general’s face as he warned her to keep Silver out of snooping around the palace.

Silver frowned at her. “What is wrong with you, Mary? Do I have to order you again before you get yourself in position?”

Mary trembled with fear and wrung her hand together, her nerves crackling all over her and making her skin crawl. “I am scared, Your Highness.”

She sighed, throwing her hands up in defeat. “Mary, I thought we already talked of this. I believe you are now with me.”
