“He is so sweet.” Silver gushed to Mary as they were seated at the window of their bedroom after a lofty breakfast.

Mary sighed and rolled her eyes. She turned to Silver. “Of course he is.”

“No one will know he has a sweet heart underneath that hardcore exterior.”

“Of course. Just like all the other warriors. That is how they all are,” Mary replied, a bite in her words, but Silver was too far gone in her daydreams to notice that her maidservant was being sarcastic to her gushes.

“Did I tell you that he said I can come and talk with him whenever I feel bored and that no one will ever have to disturb us?” Silver smiled at Mary.

“Of course, you did, my princess. You’ve talked of nothing more than the general and his invitation to talk with you for the past three days.” Mary sighed.

She was sick of listening to the praises about Jason but couldn’t tell Silver that. She had thought she had endured the worst of Silver’s romantic daydreaming when she had
