Chapter 21
Noella’s POV
I curse myself for loving a man like him, and I curse myself for believing someone so heartless like him. I hate Austin, and I must kill him, whether he runs away or not. His life is mine. It’s the first time in my life I’ve seen someone change even more than a chameleon. Kind for a minute, and the next few seconds, very aggressive.
From prison to prison, is this the kind of fate I have? I prayed to my parents in heaven to watch my every step as I went. Soon, some maids entered the prison and walked to my ward.
“Time to eat,” one of the maids said.
“I thought Our Lord asked us not to send her any food?” The other maid whispered softly. They were three in number.
“If the maid asked us not to send her food, who are these from?” Another asked anxiously, their eyes rolling from me to them.
“Just let her eat; do you want her to starve?” The first maid shoved the food into my prison room, staring at me in annoyance.
