Chapter 29
Austin’s POV
If I wasn’t being rational or mistaken, it’s been weeks since Noella left the camp, and I’ve heard not one word from her, nor do I know her whereabouts. I tried to track her with her scent, but it seemed like a huge siege blocked my nose. Restless and devasted about what to do next, I sat on my throne. Aragon stood at a distance, staring at me; he later lowered his head.
“If I knew things were going to turn out this way, I would have insisted on following her.” His voice was solemn and permeated with sadness; he tried not to look straight into my eyes because I was filled with rage.
I decided not to respond to him, or else he might get it hot. After a brief silence in the chamber, I cleared my throat and lifted my gaze. Unintentionally, we locked gazes, and he didn’t struggle to take it away.
