Chapter 22
Austin’s POV
Anxiously staring at the doctor as he checked her pulse, I was eaten up by guilt and anguish.
“How is she, doctor?” I questioned him desperately.
“Luckily, she is safe now,” the doctor sighed, retiring from her side. I adjusted closer to her.
“What is wrong?” I asked.
“It’s cold, which is not good for her health and is also poison,” he halted. “I will prescribe some medication to tend to her health,” he added courteously.
“Sure. Aragon, see him out,” I instructed, and after a short nod, they left the room. I was alone in the room, staring at her, whose skin was now pale.
My inner beast cried. “I told you not to send her there,” my inner beast whispered to me. I couldn’t ignore it this time.
“But there is no way she will freeze for only cold,” I paused, rubbing my chin. “Poison,” I remembered; he mentioned something like that.
“How is it possible for her to be poisoned in my domain?” These thoughts baffled
