Chapter 127. Promotion

I didn’t even want to think about it. The idea alone made my stomach twist. I would have been completely alone. A broken girl standing in the ruins of a war that she didn’t even start.

But it hadn’t gone that way. Fate had better plans. I guess fate didn’t hate me after all. I had always thought that I had been cursed. 

And maybe I was, but at least now I knew how to live with it.

The Moon Goddess…despite her silence and her cryptic ways…had listened. She’d answered me in the only way that truly mattered: by giving me back the two people I loved more than anything in this world.

That was the best gift ever. And I would forever be in debt to her. She saved me. By giving me Giveon and Sara back, she saved me in a way that nothing could have ever done. 

Still, hearing that my aunt; the woman who had nearly destroyed everything all because of her anger and pain—had signed a peace treaty…it wasn’t really shocking, but I was taken aback a bit.
