Chapter 129. Goodbyes
“I didn’t save her,” I whispered. “I saved myself,” I told her the truth. “Saving her and Giveon saved me.” I pulled away and locked eyes with her. “Because let me tell you, I’d rather be dead than lose both of them. So sacrificing my wolf for them is something I won’t ever regret.”
I mean, I did feel a bit of guilt for what I had done to my wolf. But I think she’d understand too, and would have wanted this or chosen to do the same thing I had done if she had been in my shoes.
I hope she was in a better place though.
“And I swear, you did that so you can always hang it over my head. How will I be able to top that?” Lisa replied jokingly, and we all laughed freely.
