Chapter 10. Graduation and the Green-Eyed Monster
Changing onto a cream-colored long-sleeve top paired with green palazzo pants, I put my graduation gown on top. Curling my hair and doing minimal makeup, I let out an exasperated breath, looking at my reflection in the mirror while putting on the cap.
“It’s just for a few hours. You can pretend and make it believable.” I give myself a pep talk to my reflection and then put on my black pump heels.
Locking the door behind me, I already see Jenny’s car waiting for me as I step in the back, wishing her parents a good morning, and they greet back.
“Our two daughters are all grown up now.” Isabella, Jenny’s mother, remarks with a proud gleam in her eyes.
“Yes, and I also cannot believe that Scarlet is going to be our family member now.” Max, Jenny’s father, says with a really big grin. “Welcome to the family, officially, Carly.”
