Chapter 9. A Little Argument and an Old Brief Memory
After that little incident
, I didn’t hear from her to my greatest relief. One week passed away just like that as I started to pack up. My graduation is just two days away. After that, I am supposed to move in with Phoenix.
I am nervous…I have never lived with someone before, and in a few days, I will be living with my fake husband-to-be. In these few days, I have also observed that though Phoenix tries to appear that he doesn’t care…he really does care.
My bell suddenly rings as I slowly make my way over it until I hear Phoenix’s voice on the other end calling out for me and banging at my door. As soon as I open the door, I am engulfed in an embrace, feeling Phoenix’s heavy breathing and racing heart.
Did he run all the way here? What’s going on? Did someone find out about us? But that’s impossible. “Umm, Phoenix, is everything okay?” I ask softly as he slowly releases me.
“Why don’t you tell me?” He says in annoyance.
“Tell you what?” I ask.
