Chapter 11. Moving in with Phoenix

As expected, Phoenix keeps zero contact with me, and it isn’t like I was expecting us to bond or become friends. I am almost done with packing everything as I look over at my now empty home- though this place is small and a bit shabby, it still has given me shelter and has witnessed a lot of things. I knew that one day, I would leave this place. I just didn’t expect this day to arrive so early.

I look over at the couch where my grandmother used to sit, reminiscing about when she used to comb my hair and would call me the prettiest girl she had seen. Tears well up in my eyes as I miss her smile and telling me that you don’t always get what you want. You get what you deserve, her mantra. God, I just want her to get well as soon as possible. Then I hear the doorbell as I wipe my tears and open the door to see Phoenix standing.

“I- what are you doing here?” I ask.

He looks at me as if I am an idiot, “To help you pack, I have even brought a big car to take all these box
