Chapter 23. It Has Been Phoenix, All Along
The rest of the day for me passes very quickly, and both of us really don’t talk to each other much. And before we know it, we are already back at our penthouse. While I choose to retire to my bedroom, Phoenix walks off towards his office room.
After changing into my nightwear and unpacking my bag, I decide to go into the kitchen to get some water for myself, and there is a part of me who wants to check on Phoenix, too.
When I enter the kitchen, I see him having chocolate ice cream, and he gives me an immediate smile as he notices me standing near the door.
My heart skips a beat.
Why is he so beautiful?
And why does he always need to smile at me like that?
I make my way towards the kitchen island, watching him eat his ice cream with a lot of interest. The way he is licking the spoon, his tongue licking every bit of the chocolate…my breathing and heart rate accelerate at every moment of his.
