Chapter 28. A Soft Side

“Hello.” I greet her and she chirps up after giving me a look over.

“She is beautiful.” And then she holds onto my hand, smiling kindly at me. “You’re beautiful, my dear.”

“Thank you,” I said, feeling Ben’s intense gaze on me.

“Come, dearest. The children are waiting very eagerly.” She says, holding onto my hand and sending a few men to help Ben with the boxes.

We walk over inside into a room filled with children, and they immediately run over to greet me, their eyes sparkling with excitement and big smiles.

“Kids, this is your favorite Phoenix uncle’s wife. She is here to spend time with you, too.” She introduces me as I wave at them and they clap their hands.
