Chapter 25. Truce
His parents walk over to us and, as always, ignore me completely, but I am okay with that as long as they don’t say anything mean to Phoenix.
“And congratulations on your wedding, of course. You didn’t invite us to that as well.” Mrs. Farrington remarks.
“It was surprising, but I am sure it’s not really going to last.” Mr. Farrington says.
“And you’re asking me why I didn’t invite you? You haven’t even entered the premises, but you’re already creating a scene.” Phoenix says.
Here they go again.
“Well, you are in for a surprise, father-in-law. This marriage is going to last very, very long unless, of course, you try to poke your nose around us.” I say, “Now if you would excuse us, the money and luxury that you’re enjoying right now is because of your son’s capability, which is very long-lasting.”
