Chapter 35. A Midnight Movie Date
When I came back home, Ben was sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and gave me a heart-melting smile, asking me to take a seat so that we could watch a movie together. After freshening up, I sat down with him with all the lights switched off because we were watching a horror movie.
The movie begins but I was more distracted by our shoulders touching and his intense gaze on the screen. He was clearly enjoying it; his expressions kept changing according to the scenes. I was too mesmerized by him to look at the movie.
I turn my head to look at me only to see a ghost jumping on the screen making me jump too.
“Aah, you could’ve warned me, you know,” I said, hitting him with the pillow.
“And miss your reaction? No way.” He teases, “Maybe if you paid attention to the screen, you wouldn’t be so scared.”
I rolled my eyes, “I was paying attention.”
“Yes, at my face,” he says, watching me with a smirk.
Well, that’s not untrue.
