Chapter 7. Mrs. Farrington and Mr. Farrington
We stop just a few meters away from the door, and Phoenix turns to look at me. “I want you to act like you’re head over heels in love with me and I will do the same. Remember, it’s all an act.”
“Okay.” I whimper, looking at his hands, holding onto my wrist with a tight grip.
“Oh crap.” He loosens his grip around my hand and pulls back the sleeve of my top.
My skin has turned red where his fingers were. “I am fine.”
“But-…”
“It’s fine. My skin is fair and kind of too sensitive.” I reassure him. He looks genuinely worried but nods his head. “Let’s head in, I don’t want to give off a bad impression.”
“Don’t worry too much about them. They have hated every girl that I had asked them to meet.” He says, with a tight smile.
He slides his fingers into mine once again, and my nerves instantly relax as we step inside together. He asks the concierge to take us to a table of four.
