Chapter 6. Don’t Wear Red Lipstick from Now On
“Your mother? As in Mrs Farrington?” I ask, scoffing in disbelief. “You tricked me, I am not ready to meet your mother. Look at me, my hair is a mess and I am dressed too plainly. Get me out of here.”
“Relax, Scarlet. We are gonna get you dolled up first before going to the restaurant. I chose a public place on purpose so she won’t be able to create much drama- her image is really important for her.” He reassures me, “Plus, I will be right next to you, the whole time.”
That’s the first time he has called me by my first name. It has always been sweetheart or Miss Page. No, focus on the point, Scarlet. “What’s the story that we are going with then?”
“Well, she is aware that you’re Jenny’s best friend. Her parents adore you so they have put in some good words for you, making things a bit easier. We started talking and there was natural attraction between the both of us and we just fell in love.” He explains as I pout, not really satisfied, but I just nod my head.
