Vera's POV

"Oh my goodness! Did you see the way he's looking at her?" Hannah said to Victoria.

"Too obvious! If Evans ever looked at me like that, I would melt right away!" Victoria added, cupping her face playfully.

"You two, please stop it!" I giggled, my cheeks warm. I tried to stop laughing at the nonsense they were saying, but they were too much.

Only God knows what Jack thinks I’m laughing at since he can’t seem to take his eyes off me.

"Look at her blushing! Her cheeks are burning!" Victoria teased.

Just then, my phone beeped. I checked it and was surprised to see a message from Nathan. Honestly, I hadn’t thought about him much lately. I still couldn’t figure out if he was my friend or my enemy.

I must be the worst neighbor ever! Or maybe he is. I haven’t checked on him in ages. I’ve left everything in Jack’s hands, especially getting my son back. Jack doesn’t keep me updated, but I trust he’s doing something.
