Jack remembered there was a time in his life when loneliness was his only companion, the time he was lying in a hospital bed, barely breathing, yet clinging to life. Back then, the room had been quiet. No one had sat beside him waiting for him to open his eyes, to smile, or to show the smallest sign of life. He thought that was the loneliest he had ever felt… until now.
Time, they say, waits for no one. But for Jack, these past few days, time had slowed to a cruel crawl. It dragged itself forward like a punishment, rubbing his pain in his face.
