Author's POV

Jack swallowed hard, nearly crushing the office phone in his grip. He began pacing the floor, restless and tense. He needed to be sure, completely sure, if the person on the other end of the call was who he feared it might be.

"Did you watch the news?" the unfamiliar voice asked with a twisted amusement. "Or let me guess, you rich types don’t care about the news. You're probably more interested in screwing the newscaster!"

Jack’s patience snapped. "Who the... f**k are you?!" he growled, his voice rising as his hand squeezed the phone like he was trying to strangle the caller through the line.

"Oh, come on. I'm your worst nightmare," the voice laughed darkly. "When you think about who has Vera right now, who comes to mind?"

Jack’s heart dropped. He whispered to himself, unsure whether to believe it: "Kenneth... Prince of Wales?"

"Ding ding! Jackpot! Looks like I’ve become quite the celebrity lately," Kenneth chuckled.<
