"Good.” I gave him my balloon and said, "Here, have this. It's a lucky balloon."\ It's a lucky charm for me. You'll get better quicker; I just know it.”
As he accepted the balloon, a broad grin grew on his face.
“Now, what do you think?” His mom jogged his memory.
"Thank you, ma'am," he bowed to me politely.
Standing, I mumbled, "You're welcome. See you around."
"Byeee!" I received his farewell.
After doing a good deed, I felt so much better that I turned to leave.
The first blunder was saying that. Things would be different now if I hadn't let go of the balloon for fear of losing my luck.
When I walked into my office, I saw Catherine and Sarah around one another and kissing passionately before pausing briefly to acknowledge my presence.
