Chapter 89

"I'm coming!" I yell as the doorbell won't stop going off. I hurry from the kitchen as quickly as I can and stump my little toe on a chair in the process.

"Fuck!" I hiss, making my way to the door.

I pull it open and I'm surprised to find Miriam on the other side.

"Hey." I hug her and she chuckles.

"Not expecting me today?" She asks and I step aside granting her entrance to the house.

"Not really. But I definitely didn't expect you to ring the bell as much as you did." I say and she giggles.

"I give you less things to expect." She says.

"How are they?" I ask and she sighs.

"They are doing really great. Although, Crystal complains a lot about your absence. She really misses having you around."

"I miss being around them, which is why I've made up my mind." She looks at me questionably and I shrug.
