Chapter 19. My Silly Girlfriend
Ryder’s POV
I leaned against my locker the next day at school, hoping to startle her.
“Come to the game tonight,” I said, trying to sound informal. Lila didn’t even look at me. She was cramming books into her bag as if I hadn’t spoken at all.
I cleared my throat and I tried again.
“ It’s a major one. You would love it. Everything isn’t Chemistry and History.”
“ I don’t like hockey,”
She flatly stated and without looking at me and zipped her bag. I laughed while trying to hide the pain in my chest.
“ Everybody enjoys hockey.”
At last she raised her gaze. Her eyes were drained and wary and it looked like I had made a mistake coming to dinner last night.
“I suppose I’m not everyone then.”
Painful.
I didn’t know why it hurt me that much.
“Just come.
Remember that you are my girlfriend? Or are you already planning to sever our relationship?”
That caught her attention and her lips clenched.
