Chapter 25. Her Two Guardians

Ryder’s POV

“What is it?” I asked.

“My head.” She said, touching her temples lightly.

But Lila gave me a terrified look and I saw her eyes rolled back in their sockets and her knees gave way as she crumbled to the floor.

I held Lila, her body was limp. Long strands of dark hair fell over her pale face as her head lolled to one side.

“What happened?” Caleb asked, his eyes growing wild.

“She fainted, god-damned it.” I cursed under my breath.

“We should get her home.” He said and we jumped into my car and in minutes we were there.

I kicked open her home’s front door, Caleb was right behind me,

his arms extended as if I might drop her.

I gave him a dirty look and pushed past him. I gently laid her down on the couch,

running my fingers along her cheek and sweeping the hair away from her face. She has suddenly gone pale and she looked so cold and I felt for her temperature and then her pulse.

“She’s breathing.”
