Chapter 28. Moon Ascension Reminder
Ryder’s POV
The scent of fur, adrenaline and a stifling sense of authority hit me before I had even passed halfway through the manor gates.
Three guards, tall, imposing shadows stood
stationed outside in their transformed forms. Every movement was tracked by their glowing eyes and their muscles tensed as if they were about to leap and tear something to pieces.
I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that they were there for me, waiting for me to return.
“Seriously?” I muttered to myself.
I had just taken two steps into the courtyard, my sneakers crunching on the gravel when a cold hand grabbed the back of my collar and knocked me off balance.
