Chapter 29. Sunday Whispers

Lila’s POV

I woke up to the warm sunlight and also to a little headache at the back of my head, pounding softly.

My limbs hurt like I had been running in my dreams and my eyes were still blurry slightly from yesterday. But something colder took the place of the dizziness. I was in my room. Alone. I guessed, mom must have brought me here.

My room or should I say the whole house was as quiet as a graveyard except someone was speaking in muffled tones in the kitchen just directly below my room in our very small apartment and the clock was ticking.

I sat up slowly squirming as my ribs began to hurt dully. There were unread messages on my phone and there are four updates. As I tapped into them, my fingers shook a little.

Ryder:. Hello princess. I hope your health has improved. Please text me if you need anything at all. I’ll be right there.

Ryder:

I didn’t sleep last . I kept thinking about you. Are you alright?.
