Ryder’s POV
I came to a complete stop. Not because I wanted to but this abrupt announcement had left me breathless, my heart began to hammer and it pumped more blood than necessary.
What does she mean by that?
Was this another prank? One of those I and Aunt Helena played when I was little?
Her voice had slammed into me. Coming in two days? Salome? Same school? It seems like the wind had spoken and not Aunt Helena. A stupid knot formed in my stomach as I forced myself to turn and look at her.
“What?” I stuttered.
She smiled. I had never seen Aunt Helena smile this wide before. She took a sip from her wine flute and stood up gracefully.
Her eyes were keen though. Far too sharp, looking deep into my very soul.
