Chapter 45. He Doesn’t Want You

Lila’s POV

I ran and didn’t stop. The wind hissed around me as I burst through the double doors, the sun hitting my face and my heart breaking and breaking into pieces.

The whispers all around the school’s walls were closing in and Ryder’s earlier expression was icy.

I ignored Leah who called out to me as I ran, I ignored the sound of closing hours behind me and dashed past the gates. I continued walking even though my heavy backpack was dragging me down by hanging off one shoulder, even though my head was pounding and I was feeling so cold all of a sudden as if that stupid sickness was about to come haunting me again. I got to a safe and lonely corner at the parking lot and began to cry.

Running didn’t make my lungs burn, everything did. The whole thing. Ryder. Emily who has vanished. Werewolf, Alpha, Demon Alpha.
