Chapter 43. And He Was Shirtless

Lila’s POV

I wanted to smile. That is how every girl all over the world does right? If she was standing and not sitting, she would look surprised, shocked and her eyes would pop wide open and her palm would reach over to cover her mouth or she would simply place her hands on her chest.

I was imagining things again. The difference was that Ryder wasn’t on his knees and I wasn’t the girl. I heard the bell ring. I got up quickly.

“Spanish class, Ryder.” I said, packing my stuff.

Ryder looked bewildered. “How many classes do you even have?’

“Later, Ryder.”

I raced out and thankfully school ended and we didn’t cross paths or should I say, I hid anytime I saw him and I frequented the restroom more than three times to wipe the blood from my nose.

I had expected to feel the typical heaviness in my bones, nausea and pounding in my head when I woke up the next day. But I felt nothing. Waoh.
