Chapter 16. Mate
ERVIN’S POV
The last time I saw her during the ceremony, she looked beautiful and whole; now, her beautiful blonde hair looked sandy with blood patches on her torn clothes. The sight sent me trembling. It broke my heart to see her like that. She had a huge gash running from her stomach to her thighs, and she looked weak. The only thing keeping her standing was the rogue behind her. He had his right claws sharpened, holding her back, and the other on her neck.
“You know better than to come near,” the vile creature spoke. If I took any step, Hazel would be dead in a second. His right hand could rip her heart out, and the other could rip her head off her neck. I had never felt so weak. Fear crippled me. My knees were weak.
“Don’t you dare-” I began to threaten before the bastard cut me off. “I alone am in the position to give orders here, Beta,” he spat with disgust. “Now go ahead to the banquet hall if you value the life of your mate.”
