Chapter 15
Edmond remained quiet during the ride and Imani tried to talk to him but he only responded with either a grunt or a nod. He wasn't in a good mood and neither was he in the mood to talk but Imani didn't get the hint. She went on and on about how pumped up she was for the hike and how she couldn't wait to show off her mountain climbing skills.
Mount Kenya was the tallest mountain in the country and the second tallest in Africa, which made it even more special. Imani had climbed several mountains across Africa, including Kilimanjaro, though surprisingly, this was her first time being to Mount Kenya. She was excited for the experience but Edmond didn't share in her excitement as he remained blasé.
"What is wrong?" Imani finally asked, fed up with his attitude.
"Nothing," he replied curtly without looking at her.
Imani sighed frustratedly. "Did I do or say something to upset you? You've been quite moody for some time."
