Chapter 18
Edmond watched indignantly as George and Makena blatantly flirted with each other whenever she attended to their table. They giggled and whispered to one another and he found it utterly annoying to say the least. He had tried calling a different waiter so he wouldn't have to witness any more of their flirting, but Makena seized every opportunity to come to their table. Edmond wondered if she knew anything about work ethics and that she shouldn't be flirting with customers while on duty, even if that customer happened to be her boyfriend. So unprofessional.
Having been fed up with them, Edmond stabbed his filet mignon fiercely, turning their attention and that of the people around their table to him. Makena chuckled sheepishly. Edmond cleared his throat and she left the table, but not without winking at her boo.
"What was that for?" George inquired, amused. He knew his friend didn't have any romantic feelings for Makena so he wondered why he was upset.
