“So tell me, what does either of them look like?” Eros asked.

“You used to be a big fan of surprises. What has changed since then?”

“Nothing at all. Your interest has me curious.”

“I’ve seen you taking a couple of glances at the clock. I’m guessing you’d soon leave for Earth.”

“I’m guessing you’re not handing me any clues,” Eros announced.

“Some things are better left unsaid,” Aphrodite began. It was time to leave and allow him to get ready for his journey to earth. “I’ll be looking forward to your message when you get to earth, son.”

Eros nodded. “I’ll keep you informed, of course. You need to know when you’ve lost the bet, and I’ll call dibs on it happening on the first day.”

“Don’t you go cheating now, Eros?” She wagged a finger in his face.

“Is it cheating if I use my powers to make them fall in love?” Eros laughed. “I was always going to do it anyway. It doesn’t count as cheating.”
