Chapter 60

Cassandra walked to her room, giddy and on fucking cloud nine. She hadn’t expected all of that from Andino. He was pretty sweet. So damned sweet.

And there was the prospect that he was starting to actually care about her. Or why else would he be so bothered about her happiness?

She turned the doorknob to her room, peeking inside to see if there was anything mysterious going on. She didn’t really want to go back in there, but somehow, her room was less terrifying than Keith’s own.

His room was a nest of darkness. It made her incredibly uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that she almost passed out when he left her alone in it to talk to Dalton. She was certain she would have suffocated to death if he had stayed away any longer.

Certain that there was no mysterious business going on, she sauntered into the room, threw her hands up in the air, and twirled.

Oh, she couldn’t get over his words. Or how he said them. His face is all serious and business-like.
