Chapter 21. First Savage Glory Game
The chill bumps noises had vanished. The terror began to ease. Perhaps it was past midnight, or maybe they were too exhausted to fight in After Domini. But shots could be heard from a long distance away. Call cast a glance towards Troy, who was standing watch at the door of Kit's workshop, then shifted his gaze to Red. There was a low groan from the end of his exhaled breath. Meanwhile, Red was half-lying in Ursula's folded arms.
"Why must we sleep outside? Can't Kit just let us sleep inside?" Call let out a gentle sigh. "This is a really sucks regulation."
"Kit cannot change the rule for a customer limited to two hours. Unless you want to get up every two hours to go in and out of the workshop."
They were resting in Kit's workshop yard. The wind was cold but moist and refreshing. Kit gave Call and Red two blankets each. Kit appeared worried while they went outside, but the workplace rules only permitted her to stay there.
