Chapter 22. Jurassic

The ground around Red trembled as the thumping sound became stronger. She noticed the others racing away, leaping over the tree roots sticking out of the land. Instead, Red dived into one of the openings between the trees, bracing herself for what was to come. As feet thudded on the earth and a thunderous noise erupted, tree trunks collapsed.

Then, a monster she'd only known from history stood before Red. Either legend.

A Jurassic-period creature, big and massive, with a sound that would make anyone pee their pants. Some form of the metal tyrannosaurus. A beastly robot. Red was stunned, unable to comprehend what she had witnessed.

Red was fully aware that the AIs created robotic versions of animals. There have previously been Feline, Canine, and Equus robots, but Jurassic-era robots? So the AIs have been experimenting with creating those types of animals all along. How many more people would be slaughtered in the future?
