Chapter 62. End of the Battle of the Field
Elijah limped over to Jacob, hearing the sound of another struggle coming from behind him. He didn't know if they would survive, for Elijah was already beginning to falter. The faint sound of a helicopter approaching made Elijah look up.
"Dominic?" he muttered weakly.
There was the sound of a hail of bullets from the sky. The bullets pierced the leaves, making a sound like the screeching of ants killed by hot tin.
Elijah tugged at Jacob's arms, slowly pulling the man up. The other telekinesis were in danger, but leaving Jacob behind was impossible. As much as possible, Elijah had to return to the battlefield with Jacob still breathing.
But the next swarm of ants came again. There was no way for Elijah to escape. He let go of Jacob's hands, stood up straight, and focused on the approaching enemy.
