Chapter 84. The Infirmary

Elijah's body rushed closer to Josh's bed, unaware that his uncontrolled telekinetic power was causing the doctors to fall. Both of Elijah's hands touched Josh's face.

"Josh, wake up. Don't give up." Tears streamed down Elijah's cheeks. "Josh! Wake up!"

The lights in the room flickered, and the medical equipment plugged into the power supply buzzed. Seeing that the conditions were not conducive, the doctors ran out of the room. Elijah's body emitted electrical energy, and like roots, the current spread throughout the room. Glass shattered, equipment broke, and smoke rose.

The room was dark.

Silence.

"Urgh..." The moan rang softly in Elijah's ears.

"Josh?"

"Why?" Josh asked. Half of his eyes began to open. "Why did you touch my cheek?"
